- Yes, we do need a name for it, a precise term that we strive to make
- universal in the profession so that when we discuss engineering, we can
- communicate efficiently.

- The important point is that we get a *precise* definition of
- engineering, so that we can talk about *it* efficiently. It is a
- convenience, however, to have precise terms for pheripheral notions, like
- ``making the calculations'', or whatever, so that we don't ever confuse it
- with engineering.
