  13. I'm fairly new to this newsgroup, so I apologize if this has been discussed 
  14. before.

  16. But exactly how to LCD color TVs work?  I'm somewhat familiar with the general 
  17. operation of conventional TVs, and have always wondered how the "color" is 
  18. generated in a LCD TV?
  19.  
  20. Also, when will we be seeing large LCD color TVs on the market?  Are they
  21. destined to replace the conventional TV?
  22. How do cost and picture resolution compare? I assume things like weight, 
  23. cabinet size and picture distortion would be greatly reduced?
