- Uh, you seem to have misinterpreted the original posting. That *is* call
- trace. Except perhaps by prearrangement, the number from call trace does
- *not* get sent automatically to the police -- how would they know what
- to do with it? Call trace just logs the number so the phone company can
- dig it out if someone asks them to. And yes, some areas do have it as
- an extra-cost optional service.
