- I remember reading somewhere that for every second/mile you go out too
- fast during the first mile (relative to your overall pace), you pay four
- seconds/mile by the end. I don't know about those exact numbers, but going
- out too fast is a habit that took me a long time to break, and my best
- races have been at even splits. For me, that means having the first mile
- *always* feel too slow.
