  14. I have ofeten seen advertisements for pairs of radio crystals in R/C
  15. magazines where crystals marketed for AM radios sell for about $10
  16. a pair and those marketed for FM radios sell for about $20 a pair,
  17. all in the same ad.  Maybe the crystals really are different, but I
  18. really doubt it.  In all the time I have played with crystals, a
  19. crystal was pretty much a crystal, and maybe something like closeness
  20. of actual frequency to nominal frequency or stability over temperature
  21. changes could be real differences among various crystals.  It seems
  22. far more likely that some marketeer decided that people with FM radios
  23. are probably serious enough about their hobby that they will spend more 
  24. money.  Who knows, maybe I am forgetting some crystal property that would
  25. make some kind of crystal more suitable for AM and another crystal type
  26. more suitable for FM.  Any thoughts on the matter could be of interest.
