  24. Lie under your car and check out the two wires that go into your gearbox.
  25. Screw out the reverse switch (beware of leaking oil) and clean it of 
  26. year worth of grime, dust & soot. Try to get it moving again
  27. and have your wife standing behind your car to check if the backup lights are
  28. working properly again.

  30. If that doesn't work, undo the wiring  of you back lights and check for any
  31. shorts.
