- Originally, it stood for "Grand Touring", meaning that the automobile was
- designed to motor around 2 people plus enough luggage for about 2-4
- weeks in relative comfort on long cross-country drives.

- Now, it means that the manufacturer has added some schmaltzy
- pin-striping, blacked-out out the chrome, put in some gee-whiz gadgets
- and gauges, and added $1500-$5000 to the base price.
