  15.  I've had two (one Ford, one Chevy) come apart - the rubber sheared and
  16. the outer ring started walking about the inner one.  Didn't notice until
  17. I tried to set the timing one day.  "Something's *wrong* here..."

  19.  Both of the engines had been rebuilt by other people - after pulling
  20. off the outer ring and looking at the condition of the rubber, I believe
  21. the balancers were dunked in some type of solvent which ate up the
  22. rubber.
