- "they mentioned they use GM oil"
-
- Yeah, sure. The place I bought my Chevy from uses Kendall "two fingers" oil.
- Not that I would ever go there for an oil change, or even the time of day.
- This is the place where I went for some warranty work one time and they stuck
- the wrong key in the door and broke the lock. They did the work and then just
- parked it outside without saying anything. I discovered it when I tried to
- open the door using the right key. Then they tried to tell me it was that way
- when I brought it in. (Classic dealer excuse no. 237). They finally agreed to
- fix it free, but to this day that lock isn't as smooth as it used to be. Of
- course, this dealer went out of business two years ago, showing that there is
- some justice in the world after all.
-
- Didn't we just have a long discussion about what's the "best" oil? I think the
- consensus was that it didn't matter a whole lot as long as you change it
- regularly and stick to a known brand name. I use whatever's on sale at K-Mart
- and change it every 3K miles. Lately, that's been Valvoline or Havoline. A
- local car place had Castrol on sale a while back.
