- The most recent (August 1992) Motor Trend has a photo lifted from a GM
- stock offering prospectus (financial report, basically) on page 28.
-
- I think it looks pretty hot myself. A very clean body with just enough
- of the old Camaro's styling to show its lineage.
-
- According to the articla accompanying the photo, most of the chassis is
- carryover (I would assume this includes engine options) with the exception
- of a newly available LT1 engine lifted from the Corvette program. The
- article opens up with a statement about "almost 300 horses". I assume
- that this means it will be slightly de-tuned from the Corvette application.
-
- Also, they mention the fact that the convertible version (which is also
- featured on the same page in a spy photo) is only available as a Camaro;
- The specifics of the Firebird make a convertible conversion "prohibitively
- expensive."
-
- I just hope this car is reliable. I've heard that top of the line Camaros,
- especially mid-80s IROC-Zs were particularly prone to mechanical and
- electrical problems.
