- i say go for it. i write down everything interesting that i hear, and as far
- as i'm concerned, once a witty comment or an interesting observation hits
- the air, it's public domain and i'm on it like a duck on a june bug. when
- you have communities of artists living near one another, the same stories
- often appear in several bodies of work. the diaries of anais nin and millers
- tropics come to mind, as well as burroughs naked lunch and paul bowels,
- theres also the neil cassidy, ginsburg, kerouac, etc. thing. who cares if a
- dozen people write it down? the only important things are who does it first,
- and who does it best. after that, it's all academic.
