- I am disheartened to hear of your agent's response to your romantic
- story about a woman
- in a wheelchair. I thought we were long past our fears of differently abled
- people, but I suppose we aren't.
-
- However, there is a much wider acceptance of such stories in the lesbian
- community.
- While I have not seen (yet) any book-length treatments, I have seen
- several short
- stories with a similar theme, and found them well-written and
- enlightening. And
- romantic. All of this without the author trying to extract pity from
- the reader.
-
- Hopefully, the heterosexual community will follow suite soon.
