  24. The STC is the fastest growing organization dedicated to the theory of
  25. technical communication. They also offer student membership. The STC has over
  26. over 15,000 members and 125 chapters worldwide.

  28. While salary isn't the greatest, it has certainly improved in the past ten
  29. years. Many universties and colleges now offer degree programs in technical
  30. writing and communications. My degree is in journalism, and technical writing
  31. has always paid better than any journalism job I had.
