- Yes, notice I said it *may* contain gluten. I don't know why this is, but
- it is listed in the celiac diet as sometimes containing gluten. As far as I
- know, there's no simple way to determine whether the MSG in a specific product
- contains gluten or not.

- If your wife caused damage to her intestine and was sick for days just from
- eating the wrong thing, you'd worry too! Celiac disease requires fanatical
- attention to what you eat. Yes, it is a royal pain. Yes, it is worth it.

- I wasn't aware that MSG occured naturally in foods until reading this thread;
- I assume its natural occurance is probably not a problem, but since I don't
- know exactly why it's prohibited, I couldn't say. Perhaps the foods in which
- it naturally occurs are also prohibited. For example, white pepper is a no no,
- and I have no idea why.
