- I'm sure this has come up before, but I didn't see it covered in the
- FAQ. I received an offer in the mail for an "unsecured" loan of
- $5,000 - 50,000. The catch is that it requires life insurance to
- cover the loan. You can buy the insurance from the company offering
- the loan (terms and premiums *not* detailed in the offer), or assign
- an existing or new policy from someone else to cover it. The interest
- rate is 15.95% (i.e., competitive with many credit cards, but not
- outstanding).

- How much of a scam is this? If you don't buy their life insurance, how
- does it compare with a credit card at the same rate?

- extra funds in the next couple of months.
