  26. First, you must have Emacs running in a window somewhere. Then you must
  27. call server-start, either from .emacs or manually (M-x server-start). Then
  28. you can use emacsclient.

  30. I'll point out that emacsclient doesn't require X11, it'll work under
  31. sunview or (i)Screen quite nicely.
