  11. We have a Sun Sparcstation 2 running X11R5.

  13. Periodically students manage to "lose" the console--I cannot get the
  14. console to respond, even though there is a getty running, even if
  15. I kill/restart the getty.  This is not like the problem solved by
  16. typing "/usr/openwin/bin/kbd_mode -a"--I get *no* response from the
  17. console keyboard rather than simply having every keypress translated
  18. into a return.

  20. I'd swear I've seen this problem and it's solution discussed before, but
  21. it doesn't seem to be in the FAQ, and I'm lost.  If someone could tell
  22. me if they know of a solution, I'd really appreciate it.
