- I have seen that question asked a number of times but I have not seen
- a solution. Therefore, when I came to want the behaviour I decided to
- do something about it. The outcome is a widget that superficially
- behaves like a text widget, but in fact is an AsciiText widget inside
- an R5 Porthole widget, i.e. scrolling is achieved by moving the text
- widget around underneath.
-
- A version of this ScrollingText widget is already available in the 3.0
- beta distribution of my aXe editor on export.lcs.mit.edu. It is used
- as the filter and filename fields of the FileNominator file selector
- widget. A new version will appear with the release of aXe 3.0 proper,
- which hopefully will happen within the next 7 days if no last minute
- problems crop up.
