  13. Does anyone know why I get the following error when I try to start up X:

  15.     ld.so:  Undefined Symbol:  _XtAppInitialize
  16.  
  17. This error is usually repeated 3 times when I run startx.  
  18.  
  19. I only get this problem right after I do a 'make everything' or just
  20. 'make' on the X source tree.  If I do 'make World', then this problem
  21. seems to go away.

  23. I am running X11R5 patchlevel 13 on a Sun Sparc, with the Sun numlock
  24. patch installed.  It just seems that after every X patch release, I have
  25. to do a 'make World' in order to start up correctly.  Does anyone understand
  26. why?  Does it have something to do with the numlock patch?  This problem
  27. started at about the same time that I put in the numlock patch.

  29. If anyone could provide me with an answer, I'd appreciate greatly.
