- Hello Netlanders,
-
- we've got a dxpsview problem, too. After an upgrade to Ultrix 4.2A, we
- have to use the Xws Server on our DEC Station 5000/125 with PX
- Graphic-Option and a color monitor.
-
- Ok, I started the dxpsview and switched the WatchProgress Option on and
- the UseComments Option off. Then I adjusted the scale factor to 0.9, how
- it is described in the Release Notes, Page 2-8, because there is a known
- problem, that the server cannot allocate pixmaps larger than 1280x1024 pixels.
-
- The postscript file we want to look at is < 100 k.
-
- But dxpsview made the server to produce a nice core file. Dbx said, there was a
- bus error at location 0x5507dc. There are no abnormal entries in the
- /usr/adm/X0msgs file.
-
- There is another hint in the Release Note on page 4-1:
- "The dxpsview command does not run when the default visual class is set to
- StaticGray on a PXG-family option".
-
- I modified the ttys-entry to "... window="/usr/bin/Xws -class0 StaticColor",
- but this has no effect.
-
- Has anybody made the same experiances ?
-
- Thnx in advance.
-
- greets,
-
- Thilo
