- In trying to setup access a 9-track tape drive under vpix, I encountered the
- following message:
- ioctl error: bad address
- unable to complete ioctl
-
- The manual says this happens because a unix driver exists for this device, and
- even though no unix process has it open, this is still treated as a conflict.
- Why?
-
- Here's what I'm trying to do. The tape drive is from Catamount, who provides
- a unix driver that I regularly use. The problem is that the diagnostics they
- provide only run under DOS. Rather than take down the system to diagnose a tape
- problem, I'd like to run those diagnostics under vpix. Sounds reasonable, no?
-
- Is there a work-around out there?
