- Hi,
- I am kinda new to this group but was having quite a bit of fun following
- the tirades invovling DELL and Don. I've been a sys admin for a medium size
- unix site for the last 6 years and have used the net extensively as a
- resource for my problems. When we bought our first Iris 1400 I would have
- been ecstatic to have someone from SGI occasionally answer my questions. We
- generally fielded them ourselves along with using the hot line. Now various
- vendors allow the staff to either read and or reply to these, many times,
- chalenging problems. But Don if you don't have anything nice to say then
- you might want to consider holding your tongue.
-
- I notice quite a few disclaimers following a lot of posts yet you all
- expect Don to directly represent DELL. If DELL held that view, I imagine
- they don't, then we probably would not get any direct response from DELL or
- other vendors in this forum. When people get mad on the net they seem to
- hold others as responsible/liable/representing their company/etc I've seen
- it go so far as someone threatening another to go to their superiors to "get
- them fired". Get a grip guys, I read Dons post and while not all that politic
- I thought the reaction was way out of line. Note: in other groups I've read
- we have lost or nearly lost major/signifigant contributors from the group.

- remember with or without a disclaimer I speak only for myself. this has
- held up in court.
