- I have the same problem with my Western Digital WD93044-A 40MB IDE drive
- connected to a Miniscribe 300892101 Rev. P2 AT DISK controller.
- The controller has several jumpers: JP1, JP2, JP3, JP4, JP5.
- Pin 2 and 3 of JP1 are connected. Pin 1 and 2 of the other jumpers
- are not connected. Does anybody know the meaning of these jumper?
- The BEEP is produced by the drive and not by the speaker!

- The only way to boot 386BSD 0.1 is by setting the disktype to 0 (undefined).
- No beep this time.

- Strange! My disk has 977 cyls, 5 heads and 17 sectors.
