- Well ok, you can go either way I guess. The IIfx does have some advantages
- which haven't been mentioned, namely better serial port hardware and disk
- DMA. I am not familiar with the Daystar but I would guess that since it
- replaces the 030 all it does is provide a faster cpu. To me offloading the
- serial and disk i/o was as important as the faster cpu. For a few hundred
- dollars more than the Daystar you get both the custom i/o processors and
- a faster cpu, and end up with a standard system.

- As Jim says, someone who has already invested a lot of money in RAM for the
- IIx might have a good reason to get an accelerator. Back when I upgraded
- to the IIfx I had only 8 Mb of 1 Mb SIMMs on the IIx (essentially worthless
- these days!).
