  19. As mentioned earlier by "Ford", the problem is hardware.  The install tape,
  20. regardless of its state, is incapable of generating a SCSI bus error.
  21. A common cause is faulty ribbon cable or connectors.  Over several attempts
  22. to install, I predict the failure occurs at different places on the tape.

  24. 1st attempt to fix:
  25.     Remove the ribbon cable and press on the connectors (which are
  26.     crimped to the cable).
  27.  
  28. 2nd attempt:
  29.     Remove the Amiga's lid.  This changes the cable's orientation in
  30.     the box, and may also prevent the pins of the (male) SCSI connector
  31.     from shorting against the screw tab of the lid.

  33. 3rd attempt:
  34.     Swap ribbon cable.
