- Folks,
-
- I've just learned the intricacies of installing software on Unix systems, so
- please excuse any vagueness in my plea for help - it is intentional :-).
-
- We've performed a remote install of AIX 3.2 on a 520 Powerstation, and now I am
- busy installing some software. I'm not too sure how well software works from
- one version of the operating system to the next. Specifically, I would like to
- install PCSIM (AIX OS ver. 3.1.5) from QIC media. Installp works just great
- for the actual program, both applying and committing; however, the NLS message
- module ( pcsimmEn_US.msg ) is continually left in the BROKEN state.
-
- When I run PCSIM without any parameters (ie IBM ROM Basic mode), it reports a
- problem with the NLS message base, then loads BASIC. If I try _any_ parameters
- at all, PCSIM reports the same NLS message error, and then disavows any
- knowledge of the parameters I've passed it.
-
- Any suggestions? The application is not critical - I am only using it to learn
- more about the rs6k system and would like to know where the problem may be. If
- this version of PCSIM won't work with 3.2, that's fine; is there a version for
- 3.2?
-
- Thanks a bunch!
