  11. We have just reached an UNDOCUMENTED, UNKNOWN, and UNDIAGNOSED limit in
  12. exporting file systems. Apparaently somewhere between 13 and 16 is a
  13. hard but undiagnosed limit on the number of named individual recipients
  14. of a file system. The symptoms include, but are not limited to:
  15.     du locks up a session so badly that it can not be kill -9ed
  16.     df similarly
  17.     some subset of the directories get "xxxxx not readable" while trying
  18.        little things like ls, pwd, cat
  19.     file systems become read only, apparently arbitrarily
  20.     logins lock up after password, so badly they can not be kill -9ed
  21.  
  22. If you have seen this, seen documentation on this (yes we did RTFM),
  23. know the solution to it, know where to find the solution, know the exact
  24. limit, or especially, know the developer so we can fix him, please let
  25. us know.

  27. If you know a circumvention on this limit for large clusters we are very
  28. interested in the answer.
