- Macintosh Hypercard Stack for managing a BibTeX bibliography
-
- I have written Yet Another Bibliography Stack for BibTeX, the bibliography
- system used by the TeX typesetting language. Called HyperBibTeX, it serves
- as a database front-end for BibTeX and permits the expected functions
- including data entry, sorting, and searching. The stack permits full export to
- and import from BibTeX files (so existing BibTeX bibliographies can quite
- easily be imported). I have paid special attention to safegarding the security
- and integrity of the data in the stack. The features that I hope will separate
- this stack from the rest of the pack include:
-
- * mark/unmark cards using the search function;
- * export all cards or just marked ones;
- * authority lists for fields with recurring data (author, journal, publisher,
- etc.);
- * data entry from authority lists by point and click;
- * commands for verifying field contents against the authority lists;
- * a Keywords field with its own authority list;
- * a pop-up annotation field;
- * full support of BibTeX abbreviation strings.
-
- I would like to give this stack to a few beta testers before I foist it upon
- the general public (it will be freeware). Please respond to me directly and
- I will e-mail it to you (I can't offer an ftp site).
