  12. I have to generate postscript from Interleaf docs that contain
  13. several hundred pages of bitmaps. I currently have a doc whose
  14. first 100 pages produces a postscript file 140Mb long. I have
  15. discovered that pl2ps takes a '-cmprs' switch that compresses
  16. the bitmaps in a postscript master, and by editting the printers.lsp
  17. file to use this switch I can reduce the postscript coming from the
  18. same 100 pages to 9.3Mb!

  20. However, nothing seems to be able to handle this new postscript file
  21. except pageview from OW 3.0 in my sun!
  22.  
  23. Does anyone have any info on what exactly the -cmprs switch does?
  24. What kind of compression does it produce?
  25.  
  26. I would be very grateful for any light anyone can shed on this.
