- We are currently evaluating the new Z-Note notebooks for use here and
- one of the major selling points for us is the on-board ethernet
- connection (as well as the rest of the machine's _obvious_ superiority
- ;-) but we do need to test it thoroughly on the network.
- Unfortunately we are running straight TCP/IP and this is not one of
- the network kernels included with the machine. The closest is the
- Microsoft LANManager which does allow us to ping other machines on
- the network, but nothing else.
-
- Does anyone know of a packet driver for the on-board ethernet? It is
- based on an Intel chipset, but I'm sorry I forgot the exact
- designation.
-
- Perhaps somebody as Zenith is working on such a driver? Perhaps in
- conjunction with Clarkson Uni?
-
- Any information would be very much appreciated (particularly by the
- local Zenith distributor).
