- I got into this discussion late, so apologies if this point has been
- covered. Has anyone benchmarked the local file system? I ask because
- of a recent experience with SVR4 on a different platform. It's possible
- that the SVR4.3 implementation of the Berkeley fast file system has
- some significant performance (and reliability) problems. If Sun ported
- the same code, they might have inherited the same problems.
