- Why? I've got a half dozen Suns running with SQE enabled on my net,
- or at least I never did anything special to turn it off. Besides,
- several of them have a Cabletron transceiver that shows a yellow LED
- if SQE is enabled and a flashes a red LED whenever the host transmits,
- so I am _certain_ that SQE is enabled and working on these boxes at least.
- I have never seen any network or host problem because of it.
-
- Other than ancient Level 1 devices, the only network devices I know of
- that cannot tolerate SQE are repeaters like the old DEC DELNI "network
- in a box". Besides, I thought that SQE was _required_ by IEEE 802.3.
- Have I been missing something all these years?
