- There are a number of internal adjustments on the Hitachi 19"
- monitor. Most notably, the focus pot in the high voltage section.
- It is best not to tinkeer unless you have requisite experience. I
- found that my 19" monitor worked a lot better after I cleaned all
- the HV wiring with isopropyl alcohol. This is risky becasue you
- could zap yourself if you don't discharge the CRT properly. One
- should not just ground out the anode lead to the CRT becuse the
- charge dump can kill other components in the HV system; one should
- use a bleeder resistor. The CRT is coated with anti-corona paint
- where the anode lead attaches. Disconnecting the lead may reduce
- the anti-cornoa integrity. Again, refer service to qualified
- persons. At least you should now have a few ideas of what to ask
- to have done, if you don't make your own repairs.
