- We had an interface card go bad in one of our Sun Seagate Elite IPI
- drives. We replaced the board and the drive now works correctly,
- although the fault light comes on and stays on when the drive spins up.
- The same thing happened to another drive in which we had the bad
- interface board for a while during testing.
-
- My guess is that while the bad interface board was in, an error
- indicator was recorded on the disk by the interface firmware. Formating
- the drive (with Sun format) doesn't seem to effect this. The fault
- light still stays on although the drive(s) are working perfectly.
-
- Does anyone know how to get rid of the fault indication?
