- It is important to know that the Sun CPU-board serial ports are *not* RS232.
- They are RS423. They are compatible with RS232 if you don't try to push the
- cable lengths or speeds too much, and IF THE BOX AT THE OTHER END REALLY
- FOLLOWS THE RS232 SPEC. There are lots of not-quite-RS232 shortcuts that
- more or less work with real RS232 but won't interoperate with RS423. Folks
- trying to design boxes to sell for $5 less in the PC market seem to have
- discovered most of them, too.
