- Today, our Sun started reporting hard media errors for a single sector
- on the root partition. I had to shut down ungracefully, and after
- rebooting, the startup fsck failed, leaving the system semi-functional
- with / mounted read-only. I managed to lock things up a second time,
- and after restarting again, the system refused to boot at all. The
- monitor prints the following error messages:
-
- boot sd:(0,18,0)
-
- sd: sense key = 0 error = 0
- sd: sense key = 0 error = 0
- sd: sense key = 0 error = 0
- ...
-
- Is there anything left for me to try before placing a call to Sun?
