  29. I disagree. The idle time should be adjusted by SunPro to ensure that the
  30. number of licenses you buy accurately reflects the number of users. It is
  31. impossible to do this perfectly (some will have to buy more than is 'fair'
  32. and some will be able to get by with fewer) and you can often get around
  33. it (by setting up a 'make' daemon) but basically you should expect to have
  34. to buy a number of licences that reflects the number of compiler users.

  38. Personally I think this is one of the few sensible things Sun have done
  39. concerning the new compiler.

  43. Fine. Try gcc, then you get a debugger that doesn't hang when you start it,
  44. doesn't take a SEGV when your program takes a Bus Error and (last but not
  45. least) can be relied upon to find the source files for your code instead of
  46. forcing you to learn SPARC assembler :-) I *HATE* dbx. Neil.
