  14. We have an Exabyte on our SGI machine, and I backup (dump) on that tape from our Sun.
  15. What we did was create a dummy user called 'backup', no special priveledges or anything
  16. like that.

  18. All you have to do then is specify a tape device of
  19.  
  20.      "backup@Machine.with.tape.drive:/device/name"
  21.  
  22. and the dump command will use the remote tape drive as the user "backup" instead
  23. of as root.
