- Had an interesting situation today. I'd postponed doing the system accounting
- for a while and the files got rather large. Today there was only about 280K left
- on / so I decided to clean things up.
-
- After I ran sa and pac, df reported disk free space of 360K. However, when I
- started running "du -s" and added everyting up, it looked like I had 1700K (which
- is what I expected it to be).
-
- So, all you filesystem gurus out there, under what conditions will DU and DF
- return inconsistent results AND can you tell me why they (sometimes) don't agree
- with one another?
-
- Thanks ahead of time,
-
