  15.     I've been having problems with a Maxtor Panther SCSI drive
  16.     ( PO-12S 1gig ) connected to a SPARC1E board ( 4.1e ). 
  17.     The disk had countless read errors like the two below and
  18.     the machine soon panicked. Fsck complained of numerous 
  19.     unreadable sequential blocks in several areas.
  20.     Format/analyze ( test/compare ) ran without a problem.
  21.     Puzzled, I formatted the disk, ran newfs/fsck all without
  22.     a problem. Disk is currently in use and ok.
  23.     Questions: If fsck is reporting errors, shouldn't format
  24.            find them as well? Is this disk ok?
