  20. After I added the select code to uugetty, I figured "-r" was just junk
  21. that had to be preserved for backwards compatibility, and for
  22. machine-to-machine links without modems.

  25. "-t 15" is rather impatient for humans.  15 seconds is not a lot of 
  26. thinking time, but it is probably a good idea for machine-to-machine
  27. links.  The "conn" chatting, which looks for whatever the
  28. modem uses to say the link is ready, removes most needs for "-t xx".
