  10. Since we have 24bit colour displays on some of our IRIS's I thought it would
  11. be easy to access the display at this resolution using Xlib TrueColor or
  12. DirectColor.  Unfortunatly it looks as if the version of Xlib or the X server
  13. we have (came with IRIX 4.0.x) does not support 24bit colour.

  15. The Xlib call XDisplayPlanes returns 8 and it looks like that's all it
  16. supports.

  18. Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong.  Is the problem with Xlib
  19. or with the server? (or how can I find out?).
