- 1. We have a personal iris recently upgraded to Irix 4.01. For some
- reason, very large binary files have been appearing in the /debug
- directory. They have names like 03312, 03313, etc., and range up
- to several megabytes in size. It is like an image of the operating system
- is being dumped. For example, If one types su while logged in as root or
- severa times in a row, a file is created in the /debug directory about a
- half-megabyte in size.
-
- 2. These files are owned by the system, so they can't be removed.
-
- 3. I would appreciate any comments on:
- -What's causing the files to be created
- -How do I get rid of them
- -How can I prevent them from being made in the future.
-
-
- Thank you very much.
