  12. 1. We have a personal iris recently upgraded to Irix 4.01. For some
  13. reason, very large binary files have been appearing in the /debug 
  14. directory. They have names like 03312, 03313, etc., and range up
  15. to several megabytes in size. It is like an image of the operating system
  16. is being dumped. For example, If one types su while logged in as root or
  17. severa times in a row, a file is created in the /debug directory about a
  18. half-megabyte in size.

  20. 2. These files are owned by the system, so they can't be removed.

  22. 3. I would appreciate any comments on:
  23.           -What's causing the files to be created
  24.           -How do I get rid of them
  25.           -How can I prevent them from being made in the future.
