  13. In a lab where I manage a network part-time, there is one machine on
  14. which the lpd daemon keeps dying. It is an NIS client so it appears
  15. protocol and service maps are being propagated properly. In addition
  16. /dev/printer does not seem to be created by the lpd process and when run
  17. with -l option syslog has the following error:

  29.     Trying to use lpc to start daemon produces a similar error.
