- | We are currently having a display problem with one
- | of the SGIs on our local net. The colors are
- | completely screwed up (white on white menus, etc),
- | and xsetroot has no effect (xsetroot -solid blue
- | sets the background white). The menu bars are
- | white, as is the cursor. Further, the login screen
- | is white on white also, except for the message.

- | The other problem that cropped up at the same time
- | is that pandora is no longer working. After typing
- | in the username and password, the screen blanks (white),
- | then pandora comes up again.

- Run 'gamma 1.7' as root, and then check that /etc/config/system.glGammaVal
- has 1.7000 (I forget the # of 0's) in it.
-
- The newer (4.0.5) startup scripts are better at sanity checking
- this file, and more defensive about it getting trashed in
- the first place. It most commonly gets trashed when somebody
- powers off shortly after logging out, rather than shutting the
- system down.
