  25. I have used these two drives a bit, and found that they work just fine
  26. on a 4D20 running any IRIX.  Having personally upgraded about a dozen
  27. of theses ( 4D20/Maxtor ) to 4D25s, I found that in all but 1, the disk
  28. could not keep up in sync. mode, and IRIX would panic.  Our experience
  29. in the field confirmed my experience in house.

  31. Perhaps I just got a few dozen bad disks?  In any event, my testing
  32. showed that these disks did not reliably work in sync. mode on anything
  33. but an ( inherently slow ) 4D20.
