-
- I have also seen this and reported it to the zsh list but haven't gotten
- any replies.
-
- I _have_ updated /etc/shells.
-
- I _am_ running zsh2.2.0 (on a NeXT 040 Cube running NextStep2.1 OS)
-
- I invoke ZSH as my default shell, and usually access it via the
- Terminal application (vt100 emulator) provided by NeXT. When I
- invoke multiple copies (with different PTYs as the SHTTY device),
- exiting one causes all copies to exit.
-
- I also tried this by having the Workspace invoke shell windows, and
- the same phenomenom happens.
-
- I happens on more than one NeXT system (040 cube and a Turbo).
-
- But, it does NOT happen if I use the Communicae VT100 emulator to
- invoke a shell window via a PTY/TTY pair.
-
- It does not happen with any other shell (sh,csh).
-
- I'm convinced it's got something to do with kills going to the
- process group, but I can't quite nail it.
-
- To make it more specific:
-
- login with zsh as shell
- zsh% exec gdb zsh
- gdb> run -
- zsh% exit
- gdb: job terminated normally
- gdb> quit
- This window exits and so do all others running zsh.
-
- If anybody has any ideas, I'd sure appreciate them. Most of the time,
- I remember the quirk, and don't close the second or third window.
- But then, there are the times when I've got lengthy editing up in one
- window, and accidentally close another. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh!!!!
