- The way most headphone jacks work is that when you insert the plug, it bends a
- springy piece of metal away from a contact that is connected to the speaker.
- When you remove the plug, that piece of metal springs back. Maybe yours just
- lost its springiness, and didn't come back all the way.

- By the way... "JUST a software problem"? Seems to me I'd rather face a
- hardware problem. Just send it away and get it fixed. Some software problems
- NEVER go away...
