  36. A big problem with the Cannon optical drives is that air
  37. flows through the drive to cool it.  Dust accumulates
  38. inside the drive causing it to fail with the continuous
  39. spin-up spin-down syndrome.  NeXT as part of it's 040
  40. upgrades provides a dust filter to prevent this.  If your
  41. drive has this problem it usually can be fixed simply by
  42. cleaning out dust from the drive.  NeXT sells a cleaning
  43. kit for both the drives and the optical disks.
