- One of our research groups here recently bougth 600 meg external Eclispse
- hard drive because the internal 300 meg maxtor that came with the cube is
- dying a slow death (and it sounds horrible). They want the cube to boot from
- the external disk and use the internal disk as temporary storage until it dies.
-
- From what I can figure out, the NeXT cube always boots from device 0 (or the
- special case of the internal optical). I can set the external disks logical
- unit number to 0 but then it should conflict with the internal disks drive?
- Correct? I was wondering how I can change the internal disks SCSI unit number
- so that the cube won't boot from it. We will are running NS 1.0 but are going
- to upgrade to 2.1 before we do this disk change so any answers should be
- based on NS 2.1.
-
- thanks in advance for any advice.
